2017 JAGUAR F-PACE2.0L Diesel

Premature turbo failure is common on the 2.0L diesel, often caused by the same oil dilution issue that affects the timing chain.

The 2.0 diesel Ingenium engine in the F-Pace is prone to timing chain stretch and failure, the same issue affecting the XE, XF and E-Pace. Oil dilution from interrupted DPF regenerations combined with weak chain guides cause premature wear. If the chain snaps, it destroys the engine.

The water pumps on 3.0 supercharged V6 and 5.0 V8 F-Pace models are prone to premature failure, sometimes lasting less than 20,000 miles. Coolant enters the bearing housing and corrodes it, causing the impeller shaft seal to leak. The small coolant pipe connecting to the pump also has fragile plastic connectors that break on removal.
