Citroën C5 X
The C5 X is Citroen's odd-but-appealing flagship, a high-riding estate-crossover that replaced the C5 saloon in the brand's UK line-up. It went on sale in Britain in 2022 and was withdrawn in May 2025, so used examples are relatively rare. The range paired a 1.2 PureTech 130 or 1.6 PureTech 180 with an eight-speed Aisin automatic, and the 225 hp plug-in hybrid offered around 39 miles of WLTP electric range plus Citroen's Active Suspension. Inside, the C5 X majors on space, soft seats and a large touchscreen, with a boot that rivals many SUVs. Reliability is generally decent, but early cars suffered infotainment blackouts, phantom alarm triggers and software-related hybrid faults that need recall checks. Because the model was short-lived in the UK, parts availability and dealer familiarity are weaker than for a C5 Aircross, and depreciation has been heavy. Buy a late, fully updated car with a clear recall history.
