AdBlue System (Tank/Pump) Failure
SeriousExhaust & EmissionsAll BlueHDi Dispatches use AdBlue (SCR) aftertreatment, and the system is a known weak point: the pump is built into the tank with its electronics exposed to AdBlue vapour, so fluid ingress corrodes the PCB and pressure drops (P20E8), while the injector can block with urea crystals after short, cold urban runs (P20EE). Either fault triggers dashboard warnings and, if ignored, a no-start countdown that prevents restart. DVSA recall R/2025/346 covers SCR and on-board diagnostics performance on affected Dispatches, and whole tank-and-pump replacement is a common out-of-warranty repair. An intermittent warning that self-clears before becoming permanent is the classic early pattern.

- Watch for AdBlue or emissions warnings from a cold start
- Ask whether the AdBlue tank or pump has been replaced
- Scan for stored SCR fault codes such as P20E8 or P20EE
- Confirm recall R/2025/346 status with a Citroen VIN check
