Front Suspension Wishbone and Lower Control Arm Corrosion

ModerateSuspension & Chassis

The Dispatch is a working van, so its front suspension takes a constant hammering from payloads, potholes and salted UK roads. DVSA recalls R/2019/027 and R/2019/145 cover front wishbone lower ball joints that can slacken under load, R/2025/311 covers lower control-arm bushings whose bolts can corrode and snap, and an earlier recall addressed loose front shock-absorber bolts. Worn wishbones and bushes cause clunks over speed cushions, uneven tyre wear, vague steering and MOT failures, while seized or snapping bolts make repairs more expensive. Wear typically shows from 60,000 miles upwards on high-mileage working vans.

Est. Repair Cost: £250–£650
Warning Signs:

Clunking or knocking over bumps and speed cushions, Uneven front tyre wear, Vague or pulling steering, MOT suspension advisories or failure

What to Inspect:
  • Drive over broken roads and speed cushions with the radio off
  • Inspect front wishbone bushes for splits or play
  • Check MOT history for suspension ball-joint advisories
  • Confirm suspension recall work via a Citroen VIN check

Side Sliding Door Runner and Roller Wear

ModerateBodywork & Rust

The twin sliding side doors are a key reason to buy a Dispatch, but the lower runner bearings and rollers wear out on high-mileage examples, and once they collapse the door sticks, grinds, drops out of alignment or fails to latch. UK owner reports on Dispatch IV vans describe doors that are very sticky on the runners and need the rear pushed hard to engage, and workshops routinely replace worn rollers and tracks. Onset is typically 40,000–70,000 miles on hard-worked vans. On a viewing, open and close both sliding doors several times from inside and out, listen for grinding, check the tracks for grit and flat rollers, and make sure each door latches with a firm shut rather than a slam.

Est. Repair Cost: £150–£350
Warning Signs:

Door sticks or grinds when opening or closing, Door drops or needs a hard slam to latch, Rattling from the side door over bumps, Rear of door fails to engage on closing

What to Inspect:
  • Open and close both sliding doors from inside and outside
  • Feel for heaviness, grinding or door drop in the runners
  • Check roller tracks for grit and flat-spotted bearings
  • Ensure each door latches firmly without a hard slam

Buying Tips for 2025–2026 Citroën Dispatch (K0)

  • Check for AdBlue warnings; a tank replacement is a common and costly repair.
  • On 1.5 BlueHDi models, verify if it has the later 8mm cam chain upgrade.
  • Test the air conditioning; the condenser is prone to stone damage and corrosion.
  • Ensure the rear doors lock and unlock correctly; the wiring looms are a weak point.
