The 500X is prone to recurring electrical issues including random warning lights, infotainment freezes, climate-control display dropouts and stop-start system failures. These are often intermittent and hard to replicate at the dealer, making them frustrating to resolve.
The DDCT (Dual Dry Clutch Transmission) used in some 500X models can develop shudder or hesitation at low speeds, particularly in heavy traffic. Software updates can help, but worn clutch packs eventually need hardware replacement.
