Common Problems with the
2019 Jaguar I-Pace

A failing 12V battery or a glitchy Battery Monitoring System (BMS) sensor can trigger a "Traction Battery Fault" or total vehicle shutdown. The car is extremely sensitive to 12V health.

The internal element in the HV heater fails, resulting in no cabin heat. This is covered by Safety Recall H448 for many models, as it affects windscreen defrosting. Repair out-of-warranty is expensive as it requires dropping the main high-voltage battery pack.

The air suspension on HSE and higher specification models can develop strut leaks or compressor failure, particularly in cold or damp conditions. The compressor runs continuously to compensate for leaking struts, eventually burning itself out. Symptoms include the car sitting low on one corner and suspension fault warnings.

The charging port door can fail to open, or the actuator pin that locks the cable in place can stick. This means the cable either fails to lock into the port or refuses to release after charging. The pin mechanism is a known weak point that can seize in cold weather.

A known production quality issue where the factory windscreen seal fails, allowing water to leak into the cabin through the A-pillar area. Water can reach the frunk where the 12V battery and electronics are located, causing additional electrical problems. Particularly common on 2018-2020 cars.
