Fuel Feed Line Quick Connector Detachment Risk (DVSA Recall R/2024/308)

SeriousFuel System

On early-production 2023–2024 Lamborghini Revuelto models, the high-pressure fuel feed lines supplying the 6.5-litre V12 direct injection system were fitted with quick connectors that may not have been manufactured or seated to factory specification. Under sustained fuel rail pressure and high engine-bay thermal loads, the fuel feed hose can work loose from the quick connector fitting. This creates a severe pressurized petrol leak in close proximity to hot exhaust manifolds and the catalytic converter housing, presenting an acute fire hazard. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) issued safety recall R/2024/308 (campaign code L74X-R.01.24) covering UK vehicles manufactured between December 2023 and April 2024, mandating complete replacement of the fuel feed lines with redesigned locking assemblies.

Est. Repair Cost: £0 (safety recall) / £800–£1,600 out-of-warranty replacement
Warning Signs:

Strong smell of raw petrol in the cabin or around the engine bay after driving, Fuel weeping or pooling visible on the engine undertray underneath the rear bulkhead, Check engine light or low fuel pressure warning on the instrument display, Engine hesitation or sputtering under sudden full throttle demand

What to Inspect:
  • Check the official DVSA/Lamborghini Unica digital service register to confirm recall R/2024/308 has been completed
  • Inspect the high-pressure fuel feed line quick connectors at the rear engine bulkhead for updated metal locking clips
  • Verify there is no fuel residue, weeping, or fuel odor around the rear engine bay plumbing
  • Confirm with an authorized Lamborghini franchise dealer that all fuel system campaign bulletins are signed off

Engine Oil Circuit Radiator Flange Fastener Torque Fault (DVSA Recall R/2024/509)

SeriousCooling System

The Revuelto's 6.5-litre L545 V12 utilizes a dry-sump lubrication circuit with front/side-mounted oil radiators connected via high-capacity aluminium flange lines to the central dry-sump reservoir tank. On specific vehicles manufactured between April and May 2024, the screws securing the oil circuit connection flange from the radiator to the oil tank were not torqued to specification during factory powertrain assembly. Under high oil operating pressure and engine vibration, the loose flange screws allow engine oil to weep or spray from the joint onto undertray surfaces and adjacent hot exhaust components, creating a potential engine oil starvation risk and engine bay smoke or fire hazard.

Est. Repair Cost: £0 (safety recall) / £600–£1,500 out-of-warranty inspection and retorque
Warning Signs:

Engine oil spots or seepage visible on the ground beneath the engine and radiator undertrays, Faint smell of burning engine oil entering the cabin through air vents when coming to a halt, Engine oil level warning or low oil pressure warning displayed on the digital dash, Oil misting visible across rear suspension linkages and aerodynamic diffusers

What to Inspect:
  • Verify with an authorized Lamborghini franchise that DVSA recall R/2024/509 has been carried out
  • Inspect the oil cooler flange connections and surrounding pipework for oil misting or leaks
  • Check engine oil level electronically via the digital instrument cluster menu following warm-up
  • Inspect the vehicle undertray for fresh oil staining or fluid accumulation

Scissor Door Gas Spring Spherical Pin Loosening (DVSA Recall R/2025/291)

ModerateBodywork & Rust

The Revuelto features iconic scissor doors made of lightweight carbon-composite material, supported and balanced by heavy-duty pressurized hydraulic gas springs mounted to spherical pivot pins. On vehicles produced between January 2024 and June 2025, the threaded spherical support pins were assembled with improper torque tolerances or inadequate thread-locking adhesive at the factory. Over repeated door opening cycles, the spherical pins can loosen and back out from their chassis mounting sockets or detach completely. This causes the door gas strut to disengage, allowing the heavy scissor door to suddenly fall downward from its raised position or preventing the door from opening or latching correctly, posing an injury risk to occupants.

Est. Repair Cost: £0 (safety recall) / £450–£1,200 out-of-pocket repair
Warning Signs:

Scissor door failing to remain held open, dropping down unexpectedly under its own weight, Clunking or clicking noise heard from the A-pillar door hinge area when opening or closing, Excessive lateral play or wobbling in the door when raised, Difficulty unlatching or opening the door smoothly from inside or outside

What to Inspect:
  • Inspect the official DVSA recall history to ensure recall R/2025/291 has been executed by a main dealer
  • Open both scissor doors fully and check that they remain firmly upright without sagging
  • Examine the spherical pivot pin mountings on the door hinge mechanism for looseness or missing hardware
  • Operate the electric door latch buttons to confirm seamless release and latch engagement

Buying Tips for 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto

  • Verify through official dealer records that DVSA safety recalls R/2024/308 (fuel line quick connectors) and R/2025/291 (scissor door spherical pins) have been performed.
  • Inspect the carbon-fibre front splitter and low-slung underbody aerodynamic diffusers for scrape damage from steep UK driveways and speed cushions.
  • Test the electric-only 'Città' mode and ensure smooth transitions when the 6.5-litre V12 engine fires up under acceleration.
  • Check all three cabin screens (driver instrument cluster, central vertical touchscreen, and passenger display) for software responsiveness and latest firmware.
  • Ensure the high-voltage hybrid traction battery charges properly via the onboard charging port and regenerative braking, and maintain the car on its dedicated battery conditioner.
