2008 Audi A3 1.9L Diesel · AB57 ANJ

The 2008 Audi A3 passed its most recent MOT on 19 March 2026 at 193,001 miles with no defects recorded, leaving it roadworthy as of that test. The maintenance trend appears stable across the three years of available records, with each annual examination clearing the vehicle on the pass attempt. A recurring quirk shows the car failing and passing on the same day in both 2025 and 2026, which points to administrative re-tests rather than mechanical faults, as no defects were logged on either failure. Mileage has accumulated in a steady, age-typical pattern. The car covered 153,008 miles at the 8 March 2024 test, rose to 173,443 by 11 March 2025, and reached 193,001 by 19 March 2026. That equates to roughly 20,000 miles per year over the recorded span, double the 10,722 annual average implied by its age but still consistent with regular use rather than standing idle. The DVSA data is sparse, with only three test years present and no advisories or defects ever noted, so the clean sheet gives little to scrutinise. Given the absence of recorded advisories across all tests, no specific suspension bushes, brake discs, or corrosion issues have been flagged for this A3. The high mileage of 193,001 means consumable items such as tyres, wiper blades, and exhaust components will be near end of life even if not yet failed. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of structural integrity and drivetrain wear, as the MOT record alone cannot confirm the condition of components the tester did not cite. The same-day fail-pass pairs in March 2025 and March 2026 suggest the previous owners addressed any minor paperwork or presentation matters promptly. This behaviour implies basic upkeep was maintained, though the lack of advisories at this mileage is unusual and warrants verification of the underside for rust and the suspension for worn bushes before purchase.
