2015 Ford Focus 1.6L Diesel · AU15 ABN

The 2015 Ford Focus with 174,751 miles shows a stable roadworthiness trend based on its most recent MOT on 2025-02-17, which passed with no defects recorded. However, the vehicle’s history includes repeated failures on identical dates (2024-03-05 and 2023-02-25) at matching mileages, though no defects were listed for these tests. This inconsistency raises questions about the accuracy of the records or potential unresolved issues that may have been rectified between tests. The absence of defects in the latest assessment suggests the vehicle is currently compliant, but the pattern of repeated failures without recorded faults warrants closer scrutiny. The vehicle’s mileage of 174,751 miles over 11 years equates to an average of 15,886 miles annually, significantly higher than typical usage. This rapid accumulation increases the likelihood of accelerated wear on components such as suspension bushes, brake discs, and drivetrain elements. The MOT records lack detailed defect descriptions, making it difficult to assess the vehicle’s mechanical health beyond the binary pass/fail outcomes. The sparse data does not indicate recurring structural issues, but the high mileage and testing frequency suggest the need for a thorough pre-purchase inspection. A buyer should prioritise checking the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as high mileage often leads to such failures. The braking system, including calipers and discs, should be inspected for uneven wear or corrosion, particularly if the vehicle has been driven in harsh conditions. Structural integrity, including rust on the chassis or body panels, should also be evaluated, as high-mileage vehicles are more prone to corrosion. The MOT history provides limited insight into these areas, so a professional mechanical survey is strongly advised to confirm the vehicle’s condition.
