1978 Land Rover 88 2.3L Diesel · BWS 734S

The vehicle presents a consistent history of roadworthiness, having passed its last five consecutive MOT tests without any major defects. The most recent inspection in September 2022 indicates the car remains in a functional condition, suggesting a baseline level of ongoing maintenance. While the record shows occasional minor advisories related to wear and tear, these are generally typical for a vehicle of this age and do not ( immediate mechanical failure. The mileage profile is notably low for a vehicle of this era, sitting at approximately 52,000 miles over its lifetime. This rate suggests a low annual usage pattern, which often correlates with less mechanical strain on the engine, gearbox, and interior components. However, the buyer should be mindful that long periods of standing or very low-mileage use can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and seals, regardless of the distance covered. A prospective buyer should focus their inspection on the suspension and braking systems, as these are the areas where minor issues have been noted over time. Given the age of the car, it is advisable to check for any developing corrosion on the chassis and to verify the condition of the bushes and dampers. There are no major structural failures recorded in the history, which is a positive indicator for the vehicle's overall integrity.
