2007 Honda Civic Type-R GT I-Vtec 2.0L Petrol · HRZ 5524

The vehicle demonstrates a stable roadworthiness record, with no defects recorded in its last five MOT tests, including the most recent 2024-10-23 assessment at 157,093 miles. All prior tests from 2017 to 2024 also showed passes, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical concerns. The absence of advisories or failures suggests the car has been well-kept, though its age and mileage necessitate careful inspection of high-wear components. The mileage progression aligns with typical usage for a 19-year-old vehicle, averaging 8,268 miles annually. Tests spaced one to three years apart reveal no abrupt mileage spikes or extended periods of inactivity, with the 2021-08-04 test at 152,434 miles followed by a 2024 test at 157,093 miles showing a 4,659-mile increase over three years. This gradual accumulation suggests regular, moderate use without excessive strain on systems like the drivetrain or suspension. A buyer should prioritise checking suspension components, particularly bushes and coil springs, which can degrade over time without immediate fault codes. The braking system, including calipers and discs, should also be inspected for wear, as older vehicles may develop binding or uneven pad wear. Structural corrosion, though not flagged in MOT records, warrants scrutiny given the car’s age, especially in underbody areas. The lack of recorded issues is positive, but proactive verification of these systems is essential to confirm continued reliability.
