1993 Volvo 800 Series 2.4L Petrol · K958 OWV

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2025-03-14 at 171,073 miles recorded a pass with no defects, indicating a stable maintenance trend in the immediate term. However, prior tests between 2021-10-21 and 2023-10-31 show repeated passes at 298,211 miles, a figure significantly higher than the recorded 171,073 miles. This discrepancy suggests potential data inconsistencies or misreporting, which could obscure theTrue usage history. The absence of defects in the latest test is positive, but the lack of recent checks beyond March 2025 raises questions about ongoing maintenance practices. The vehicle’s recorded mileage of 171,073 miles at 33 years old implies an average of 5,184 miles annually, unusually low for its age. This could indicate prolonged periods of inactivity or minimal use, which may lead to issues like seized components or degraded fluids. However, the MOT records show no evidence of such problems, and the absence of advisories or failures in the 2021–2023 tests suggests the vehicle was maintained to a standard acceptable for road use. The sudden drop in mileage from 298,211 to 171,073 remains unexplained and warrants verification. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as these components often degrade with age regardless of mileage. The brake system, including calipers and discs, should be checked for corrosion or binding, particularly if the vehicle has been stationary. Exhaust emissions and structural integrity are also critical, given the model’s age. While the MOT history shows no immediate concerns, the irregular mileage data and lack of recent tests mean a thorough pre-purchase inspection is essential to confirm the vehicle’sTrue condition.
