The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on its most recent MOT result. On 3 July 2023, the motorcycle passed its inspection with no recorded defects or advisories. This indicates that at the time of the test, the vehicle met the minimum safety and emissions standards without immediate mechanical or structural concerns being flagged by the tester. The recorded mileage of 566 miles is exceptionally low for a vehicle now 29 years old, averaging a mere 20 miles per year. This pattern suggests the motorcycle has spent significant periods in storage or is used for occasional leisure rather than daily commuting. While low mileage implies minimal wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it also introduces specific risks associated with age-related degradation and stationary parts that a standard MOT test may not fully capture. A buyer must conduct a physical inspection focused on components that suffer from long-term standing. Particular attention should be paid to perished rubber components, including fuel lines and brake hoses, which can become brittle regardless of distance traveled. The inspector should verify the integrity of the brake calipers for seizing or corrosion, as infrequently used brakes are prone to surface rust and pitting. Additionally, the frame should be checked for deep-seated structural rust, as the age of the vehicle remains a greater risk to structural integrity than the low mileage figure.
