The rear differential develops oil leaks from failed pinion seals, which can lead to wear of the diff pinion due to insufficient lubrication. If left untreated for too long, a whining noise develops and a full differential replacement may be required.

Beyond the water pump, the network of plastic coolant hoses and pipes throughout the engine bay become brittle from heat cycling.
