2012 Toyota Avensis T2 D-4D 2.0L Heavy oil · TJZ 2712

This vehicle presents an exceptionally clean MOT record. Every test from January 2019 through to the most recent in May 2025 has resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. The maintenance trend is demonstrably stable and indicates consistent, conscientious upkeep. There are no recurring faults, no structural warnings, and no signs of neglect in the official history. The recorded mileage of 63,902 miles is low for a 14-year-old car, averaging roughly 4,500 miles per year. The mileage accumulation is steady and logical, with no suspicious gaps or sudden jumps between tests. For example, the car covered approximately 7,000 miles between the 2021 and 2022 tests, and a similar 6,600 miles between 2022 and 2024. This pattern suggests regular, light use rather than extended periods of standing or high-mileage motorway work. While the MOT history is pristine, a pre-purchase inspection should focus on age-related deterioration that a static test may not fully capture. Pay close attention to the condition of suspension bushes, anti-roll bar links, and coil springs for corrosion or cracking. Brake discs and calipers should be checked for binding or uneven wear, particularly given the low mileage and potential for light use. The exhaust system and rear suspension components should be examined for corrosion, as these are common failure points on this generation of Avensis. A thorough check of the timing belt service history is also essential, as this is a critical maintenance item that is not reflected in the MOT record.
