2016 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0L Diesel · VO66 AOG

This Volkswagen Tiguan has maintained a consistent roadworthiness record over the past five MOT cycles, with no defects or advisories recorded in any of the tests conducted between November 2021 and November 2025. The most recent inspection, on 25 November 2025 at 64,337 miles, confirms the vehicle passed without issue, though it is now approaching the six-month window before its next due date on 25 May 2026. The absence of any recurring advisories or defects suggests the vehicle has been subjected to regular, if not rigorous, maintenance, though this does not preclude hidden wear or deferred servicing. The mileage progression indicates a steady usage pattern, averaging around 6,434 miles per year—a rate typical for a vehicle of this age. There are no abrupt jumps or prolonged periods of inactivity between tests, with the most significant mileage increase of 7,994 miles occurring between the November 2023 (46,727 miles) and November 2024 (56,021 miles) tests. This suggests consistent driving habits without prolonged neglect. However, the lack of service records beyond the MOT history means critical intervals for suspension bushes, timing belt (if applicable), and differential fluid changes cannot be verified. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of high-wear components not covered by the test. Focus on the suspension—particularly the condition of coil springs, bushes, and shock absorbers—given the vehicle’s age and mileage, as these are prone to fatigue and corrosion. The brake system, including caliper binding, disc thickness, and rear brake shoe wear, should be checked, as even minor issues can escalate without visible MOT failures. Structural integrity, especially around wheel arches and sills, warrants scrutiny for corrosion, particularly if the vehicle has been exposed to salted roads or coastal environments. Finally, verify the integrity of the exhaust system for leaks or excessive rust, as this is a common failure point in Tiguan models of this era.
