2015 Volkswagen Passat 2.0L Diesel · AE65 WFK

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, though the maintenance trend shows a shift toward minor cosmetic and light-related defects. The most recent test in March 2025 at 144,610 miles passed with no major failures, despite noted damage to the nearside front window. This follows a pattern of minor Advisories in previous years, but generally, the core structural and safety components have been passing under scrutiny. The mileage history is inconsistent and indicates a significant gap in records. Between September 2020 and October 2021, the vehicle covered over 23,000 miles in a single year, suggesting heavy annual use. However, there is a notable discrepancy where the 2021 test recorded 193,123 miles while the January 2023 test recorded significantly lower 131,428 miles. The overall average of approximately 13,100 miles per year is high for an 11-year-old vehicle, which typically places higher stress on the drivetrain components and suspension assembly. A buyer should conduct a thorough physical inspection of the glass and seals, as recurring damage to the nearside windscreen and artwork has been noted across three consecutive testing periods. The 2020 advisory regarding worn edges on the rear tyres suggests potential alignment issues or suspension own wear that should be verified on the current set. Given the high mileage, a close examination of the suspension mounts, shock absorbers, and braking system components is essential, as these parts are the most likely areas of fatigue at this interval.
