2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class 1.6L Petrol · AP13 PVJ

The current roadworthiness status cannot be confirmed as the most recent MOT certificate expired in November 2023. While the vehicle held a pass through late 2023 at 54,114 miles without recorded faults, this leaves a significant gap of over two years against today’s date of June 2026. Prior to that period, the maintenance pattern appeared stable with consecutive passes in May and September 2021 showing no major mechanical failures. The October 2022 test result presents an anomaly where the vehicle failed despite listing no specific defects, which warrants verification during a physical inspection to rule out administrative errors or undocumented issues. At 54,114 miles, this 2013 model has covered approximately 4,163 miles annually, indicating light usage compared to typical fleet averages. Such low mileage often reflects long periods standing rather than consistent driving, which introduces risks regarding rubber component degradation and fluid evaporation independent of distance travelled. The jump from 46,795 miles in September 2021 to 52,435 miles by October 2022 suggests regular servicing occurred during that window, yet the subsequent rise to 54,114 miles by November 2023 indicates minimal activity in the following year. Buyers should verify service records to ensure oil changes and coolant flushes happened on calendar intervals rather than solely mileage triggers. Prospective buyers must prioritize checking suspension bushes and coil springs for cracking, as these components fail due to age even when mileage remains low. Brake discs and calipers require scrutiny for corrosion caused by infrequent use, particularly binding calipers that may seize after extended parking. Structural integrity checks around the wheel arches and sills are essential given the vehicle's age, looking for early signs of surface rust that could compromise chassis strength. An emissions test is also mandatory to confirm the exhaust system functions correctly after such a prolonged period without official testing.
