2011 Renault Megane 1.6L Petrol · AU11 XHM

The most recent MOT on 2026-04-16 recorded a pass for the 2011 Renault Megane at 66,765 miles, but a failure for the nearside stop lamp not working. This suggests a minor electrical issue that may have been resolved before the pass, though the dual outcome on the same date raises ambiguity. The vehicle’s age and low mileage (4,451 miles annually) imply limited use, which could mean less wear on moving parts but potential risks from prolonged inactivity, such as degraded rubber components or seized mechanisms. Previous MOTs reveal recurring issues with tyres and lighting systems . In 2025-04-15, the offside rear tyre showed cracking, and the nearside rear tyre was near the legal wear limit. A 2024-04-10 MOT noted a nail in the nearside rear tyre, while another failure that same date cited non-working offside rear fog and position lamps. These patterns indicate ongoing maintenance needs, particularly for tyres and electrical systems, which may reflect either consistent neglect or the vehicle’s exposure to harsh conditions. The trend in defects appears stable rather than worsening. No major safety-critical issues (e.g., brake failure, steering defects) were recorded, and the 2026 MOT passed after previous failures. However, the persistence of tyre and lighting faults suggests the owner may not have prioritized repairs, which could lead to more severe problems if left unaddressed.
