2011 Toyota Aygo 1.0L Petrol · AY61 XCH

This Toyota Aygo has maintained a consistent roadworthiness record over the past five MOT cycles, with no defects or advisories recorded in any of the tests conducted between September 2021 and September 2025. The most recent inspection on 2025-09-02 at 44,057 miles confirms the vehicle remains compliant with current UK MOT standards, though the absence of any recorded issues does not preclude underlying wear beyond the scope of a visual or basic functional test. The lack of advisories suggests previous owners adhered to scheduled servicing for critical components, though the record does not reveal whether routine maintenance—such as brake fluid changes, timing belt inspections, or suspension servicing—was performed as recommended by Toyota. The vehicle’s mileage progression of approximately 2,900 miles annually over the past five years indicates unusually light usage for its age, with no significant gaps or spikes in mileage accumulation. Between 2021 and 2022, the mileage increased by just 869 miles, and similarly modest increments followed in subsequent years. While low mileage generally reduces wear on high-stress components like the engine, transmission, or suspension, it may also imply prolonged periods of inactivity, potentially accelerating corrosion in critical areas such as wheel arches, underbody, and suspension mounts. The consistency of the mileage suggests the vehicle has not been subjected to heavy or irregular use, but the lack of recorded maintenance intervals raises questions about whether routine checks—such as fluid top-ups or minor consumable replacements—were consistently performed. Given the clean MOT history, a prospective buyer should prioritise an in-person inspection of components not routinely tested during an MOT, including the condition of coil springs, suspension bushes, and steering rack boots for signs of degradation or fluid leakage. The absence of advisories does not rule out gradual wear in the brake system; calipers, pads, and discs should be inspected for uneven wear, binding, or excessive corrosion, particularly if the vehicle has stood for extended periods. Underbody corrosion, particularly around the sills, subframe, and exhaust system, warrants scrutiny, as low mileage does not negate the risk of environmental damage over time. Additionally, the battery, fuel system, and electrical connections—areas not fully assessed in an MOT—should be checked for deterioration, as they are prone to failure in vehicles with limited recent use.
