2011 Nissan Note 1.6L Petrol · BF11 ACX

The Nissan Note in question has maintained a consistent MOT history with no defects recorded across five consecutive tests, most recently passing on 24 October 2025 at 52,215 miles. This suggests a stable roadworthiness trend, though the absence of advisories or defects does not preclude underlying issues not captured by the MOT—particularly those requiring specialist inspection, such as subtle suspension wear, drivetrain alignment, or corrosion. The most recent test, just under nine months ago, aligns with the expected 12-month MOT cycle, indicating compliance with legal requirements. However, the lack of any advisories or minor faults in prior tests implies either diligent maintenance or deferred attention to consumables that haven’t yet reached failure thresholds. The recorded mileage of 52,215 miles over 15 years—approximately 3,481 miles annually—is unusually low for a vehicle of this age, suggesting either light usage or prolonged periods of inactivity. The most notable gap in testing occurs between the 2021 MOT (47,726 miles) and the 2022 test (49,139 miles), a 12-month interval despite the car not reaching the 12,000-mile threshold that would have triggered an earlier renewal. This irregularity could imply the vehicle was stationary for an extended period, potentially accelerating wear on components like tyres, fuel systems, or battery health. The steady mileage increments thereafter confirm no sudden spikes in usage, which might have exposed hidden weaknesses. Given the clean MOT record, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of suspension components—particularly the rear bushes and coil springs—due to the vehicle’s age and mileage, as these are prone to gradual degradation without obvious external signs. The brakes, while not flagged, warrant closer examination for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has been stationary for periods, as moisture and corrosion can affect stopping performance. Structural integrity should also be assessed, particularly around wheel arches, sills, and the subframe, where corrosion is common in older models. Finally, the battery, fuel system, and electrical connections—often overlooked in low-mileage vehicles—should be tested, as prolonged inactivity can lead to degraded performance or failure.
