The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status, having passed its most recent inspection in November 2025 with 43,901 miles and no recorded defects. This represents an improving trend in mechanical presentation compared to earlier tests. While the historical record shows specific issues related to the suspension and steering systems, the clean sheet from the latest MOT indicates that the current owner has likely addressed previous concerns or maintained the vehicle to a high standard. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 41-year-old machine, averaging approximately 1,071 miles per year. Data shows a significant period of inactivity between September 2020 and November 2025, where the vehicle covered only eleven miles. This suggests the bike likely sits for long durations or is used only very sparingly. While low mileage generally reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, long periods of standing often lead to degradation of rubber components, perished seals, and internal corrosion that MOT tests cannot always detect. Physical inspection must focus on the areas previously flagged by the tester in 2017 and 2018. The 2017 report noted a notchy steering movement, an oil leak, and a bent rear wheel spoke, while the 2018 test identified a misting nearside front shock absorber. A buyer should verify that the steering remains smooth without mechanical play and check for any active oil leaks from the engine or fork seals. Given the age of the vehicle and the low mileage, the condition of fuel lines, brake hoses, and tyre rubber is critical to ensure they have not suffered from age-related cracking despite the lack of use.
