2016 Volkswagen Caravelle 2.0L Diesel · CX65 XLE

The 2016 Volkswagen Caravelle presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 29 October 2025 at 77,844 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of passes across the available history. No advisories or mechanical faults appear in any entry, indicating the vehicle has not required rectification work within the recorded MOT cycle. Annual mileage sits at a typical level for a ten-year-old vehicle. The records show 51,814 miles at the 23 November 2021 test, rising to 56,725 by 7 November 2022, 61,544 on 1 November 2023, 67,626 on 28 October 2024, and 77,844 on 29 October 2025. This equates to roughly 5,000 to 10,000 miles per year with no abrupt jumps or dormant periods. The clean sheet across five consecutive tests suggests the previous keeper maintained the van to a standard that satisfied DVSA examiners without flagged wear on consumables or structure. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection despite the absent MOT advisories. Testers did not note suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, or corrosion at any stage, yet components at this age can degrade between annual tests without triggering a failure. Physical checks of subframe integrity, underbody rust, and brake caliper operation remain prudent given the Caravelle's 2016 build date. The lack of recorded faults implies disciplined upkeep rather than concealed defects, but MOT pass sheets do not capture imminent wear. Verify service history against the 77,844-mile odometer and confirm tyre condition, wiper function, and exhaust emissions during a pre-purchase road test.
