2016 Volkswagen Transporter 2.0L Diesel · DE16 ADX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent pass record over the last three years. The most recent test in February 2026 at 61,600 miles resulted in a pass with no defects, following a failure just five days prior at 61,598 miles. This specific sequence suggests a minor, non-structural issue, such as a blown bulb or a minor sensor fault, which was rectified immediately before the re-test. Since 2023, the vehicle has maintained a clean record without recurring mechanical or structural failures. The mileage pattern is remarkably consistent for a ten-year-old transporter, averaging approximately 6,160 miles per year. Between February 2023 at 42,797 miles and January 2024 at 51,994 miles, the vehicle covered 9,197 miles, followed by a further increase of 6,022 miles in the following year. This low-annual usage typically indicates light commercial use and often results in less wear on the drivetrain and engine components, though it can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and suspension bushes if the vehicle sits stationary for extended periods. Given the lack of recorded advisories in the history, a physical inspection should focus on common age-related issues that the MOT test may overlook. Check the chassis for early structural corrosion on the sills and wheel arches, as these areas are prone to rust regardless of mileage. Examine the brake discs for uneven wear patterns and inspect the suspension bushings for cracking or tearing, as low mileage does not prevent the natural hardening of rubber elements over a decade.
