2021 Ford Focus ST Ecoblue 2.0L Diesel · EK04 KER

The vehicle presents an exceptionally clean roadworthiness profile, with its first and only recorded MOT on 30 July 2025 resulting in a first-time pass with zero defects or advisories. This clean sheet indicates a highly stable maintenance trend up to that point, showing no early-stage mechanical failures or neglect. Because the current date is 20 August 2026, this test occurred just over a year ago, meaning the vehicle is now due for its next annual inspection. The lack of historical failures suggests the previous owner addressed wear and tear proactively before presenting the car to the testing station. With 44,115 miles recorded at its July 2025 test, the vehicle averaged roughly 11,000 miles per year during its first four years on the road. This represents a consistent, moderate usage pattern typical of a modern diesel hatchback, avoiding the mechanical risks associated with prolonged periods of standing. The absence of earlier MOT records is standard for a 2021 vehicle, as UK law does not require testing until the third anniversary of registration. The steady accumulation of mileage up to the 2025 test suggests regular highway use, which generally benefits the diesel particulate filter and exhaust emissions systems on these Ecoblue engines. Prospective buyers must conduct targeted physical checks, as a clean MOT history does not guarantee current mechanical perfection, especially after a year of unrecorded driving. Focus first on the front suspension bushes and coil springs, which endure high stress on the performance-oriented ST chassis. Inspect the brake discs and calipers for uneven wear or lip formation, as binding calipers can develop quickly if the car has sat idle recently. Finally, examine the inner tyre shoulders for uneven wear, which would indicate wheel misalignment, and verify that the underbody plastic undertrays remain secure and undamaged.
