2008 Vauxhall Astravan 1.9L Diesel · FG58 FDD

The 2008 Vauxhall Astravan shows a stable roadworthiness trend. The most recent test on 16 October 2025 at 226,324 miles passed with no defects recorded, and the three prior annual tests from April 2022 to June 2023 also passed clean. No advisories or mechanical faults appear anywhere in the four-year DVSA history, indicating consistent compliance with minimum test standards. The recorded mileage reflects high use for an eighteen-year-old light van. The vehicle covered just 6,932 miles between the 9 April 2022 test at 219,392 miles and the 16 October 2025 test at 226,324 miles, an average of roughly 2,300 miles per year across that span. This low annual accumulation against a lifetime average near 12,574 miles suggests the van entered a period of light service or partial standing after 2022, though the 225,278-mile reading on 20 July 2024 confirms gradual continued use rather than full storage. A clean MOT sheet with zero advisories does not certify component condition, only that the tester found nothing exceeding failure thresholds on the day. The buyer should still inspect suspension bushes, coil springs, and subframe mounting points for corrosion or fatigue, as an ageing Vauxhall of this mileage often hides worn rubber or surface rust outside test scope. Brake discs, calipers, and the exhaust system should be physically checked for binding, scoring, or internal rot not visible in the record. Given the sparse history with no flagged faults, previous owners likely addressed issues pre-test or the van saw gentle use; a pre-purchase inspection remains advisable to confirm structural integrity beyond the pass results.
