A remarkably unbroken sequence of clean test passes defines the official history of this 2002 Honda FJS 600, culminating in an unblemished pass on 2024-08-28. Across eight documented inspections spanning from December 2018 through to the latest test, not a single failure or advisory has ever been recorded by test stations. This consistent record indicates that the machine has repeatedly met statutory roadworthiness standards at each annual inspection without requiring remedial work to clear flagged defects. Accumulating a total of 52,176 miles over its twenty-four-year lifespan translates to an average of roughly 2,174 miles per year, placing this maxi-scooter firmly in the low-mileage category for its age. While this light annual usage profile can mean reduced wear on core drivetrain components, it also points to extended periods where the machine may have remained stationary between tests. The absence of test gaps in the latter half of the decade shows consistent annual presentation for testing, though prospective buyers should still verify the regularity of routine fluid changes and general servicing during periods of sparse road use. Because the official test record contains zero advisories or structural warnings, the inspection focus shifts entirely to standard mechanical wear items inherent to a heavyweight scooter of this era. On a static inspection and subsequent test drive, listen carefully for any clunks or excessive play from the unit swingarm mountings and rear twin suspension units, and check that the front forks compress and rebound smoothly without pitting on the stanchions or weeping oil past the seals. Furthermore, test the dual-braking and linked braking systems thoroughly for firm lever pressure and immediate release without any binding or pulsing, which can affect heavier maxi-scooters. Check the condition of the tyres for age-related cracking regardless of tread depth, inspect the final drive and belt transmission areas for smooth power delivery without hesitation or slipping, and ensure all electrical switchgear and charging components operate reliably under load.
