2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2.2L Diesel · GK62 ACF

The Range Rover Evoque presents a clean MOT history, with the most recent test on 1 August 2024 at 76,532 miles showing no defects or advisories. This consistency extends back through the previous four annual tests, all of which passed without any recorded issues. The absence of recurring faults or even minor advisories suggests the vehicle has either been meticulously maintained or, more likely, driven infrequently enough to avoid significant wear. For a vehicle of this age and mileage, this level of compliance is rare and implies either professional servicing or a history of minimal use. The lack of even routine advisories—such as tyre wear, fluid leaks, or suspension degradation—raises questions about whether the car has been stored for extended periods rather than actively driven. The mileage pattern reinforces this suspicion: over its 14-year lifespan, the Evoque has accumulated just 76,532 miles, averaging around 5,467 miles per year. This is exceptionally low, particularly for a vehicle of its type and age. The gaps between tests are uniform, with mileage increments of roughly 7,000–8,000 miles annually, suggesting the car was either used sparingly or stood unused for significant stretches. For example, between the 2020 and 2021 tests, mileage increased by only 1,230 miles over a year, indicating either very light use or storage. Such low mileage reduces typical wear on components like brakes, suspension, and drivetrain, but it also means critical fluids—such as brake fluid, differential oil, and coolant—may have degraded over time due to lack of circulation. Given the complete absence of MOT advisories or defects, a buyer should still conduct a thorough pre-purchase inspection, focusing on areas prone to long-term neglect or hidden corrosion. Pay particular attention to the suspension components, including coil springs, anti-roll bars, and bushings, as these can degrade even with minimal use due to environmental exposure. Check for any signs of binding in the brakes, particularly the rear calipers, which can occur if the vehicle has been stationary for extended periods. Inspect the underbody for structural corrosion, especially around wheel arches and the rear differential, as moisture retention in a rarely driven vehicle accelerates rust formation. Finally, verify all fluid levels and condition, as stagnant fluids—such as brake fluid or engine oil—can lead to seal deterioration or contamination over time. While the MOT record is flawless, these checks are essential to confirm the vehicle’s true condition.
