2004 Toyota Avensis 2.0L Diesel · GL04 XBE

The most recent MOT in June 2025 was a pass, though it followed a failure on the same day. There is a recurring pattern where the vehicle has failed its MOT immediately before passing on the same day, as seen in both 2024 and 2025. Notably, no specific defects were recorded for these failures in the provided history. The overall trend for this vehicle appears stable. Despite the recorded failures, the car has successfully passed its last three annual inspections without any recorded defects, suggesting that any issues identified during the failed attempts were rectified immediately. The mileage of 261,847 is typical for a 22-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 11,902 miles per year. This level of usage suggests the car has been driven consistently rather than being subjected to extreme heavy use or long periods of inactivity. Because the MOT history shows no recorded defects, the primary risk is the cumulative wear naturally associated with high total mileage. You should prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components to ensure they remain in good condition despite the high mileage.
