1991 Yamaha 1100 1.1L Petrol · H584 EAE

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status with a consistent history of passes over several years. The most recent test on 28 March 2024 at 74,523 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, following an initial failure on the same day that yielded no faults. This suggests a minor issue was rectified immediately to meet testing standards, and the vehicle has maintained a clean mechanical record for the last five years. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 35-year-old machine, averaging approximately 2,129 miles per year. Between May 2019 and July 2021, the vehicle covered only 110 miles, moving from 74,411 to 74,421 miles. This extreme inactivity indicates long periods of storage or minimal use, which reduces wear on the engine and drivetrain components. However, such periods of standing often lead to age-related degradation of rubber components, fluid breakdown, and internal corrosion that mileage figures cannot capture. Given the lack of recorded faults in the history, a physical inspection must focus on structural integrity and fluid health rather than wear. A buyer should check for deep corrosion on the frame and swingarm, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from moisture retention rather than mechanical fatigue. Inspect the brake lines for perished rubber or cracking, and check the fork seals for leaks caused by dry seals. The tyres and suspension bushes should be examined for dry rot to ensure the rubber has not become brittle despite the low tread depth.
