1992 Citroen AX 1.4L Petrol · J433 EGP

The 1992 Citroen AX presents a clean roadworthiness record with the most recent MOT on 19 December 2023 at 98,950 miles returning a pass and no defects recorded. Maintenance trend is stable across the five available tests, showing no worsening mechanical issues or recurring advisories since the 2016 examination. The consistent passes indicate previous keepers kept the vehicle to a standard that avoided statutory failures. At 34 years old the car shows 98,950 recorded miles, averaging roughly 2,910 miles per year. The tester logged 85,733 miles on 18 August 2016, then 89,406 on 2 November 2019, a gap of over three years with only 3,673 miles added, implying limited use or storage. Later tests show 92,020 miles on 26 May 2021, 97,024 on 1 June 2022, and 98,950 on 19 December 2023. The sparse early record and modest later accumulation suggest careful, infrequent use. Despite the unblemished MOT ledger, the AX demands hands-on scrutiny of age-related components that tests may not flag without fault. The tester recorded no corrosion or suspension bushes wear, yet Citroen bodyshells commonly suffer structural rust at sills and suspension mounts after three decades. Buyer should physically inspect brake discs for lip, calipers for binding, and coil springs for fracture. Low mileage does not exempt rubber bushes from perishing during long stationary periods. The clean passes at each presented test imply keepers addressed work before examination, though the 2016-to-2019 absence from MOT records hints the car may have been off-road. No recurring tyre or wiper advisories suggest basic consumables were renewed as needed. A pre-purchase inspection should still confirm tread depth and wiper condition, but documented history shows low serious mechanical risk.
