2016 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0L Diesel · J6 MOK

The 2016 Volkswagen Touareg presents a currently roadworthy status with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 23 September 2025 at 89,301 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, though the same date also shows a failed attempt with no defects listed, a likely administrative or retest anomaly rather than a mechanical fault. Prior annual tests in October 2024, October 2023, and October 2022 all passed cleanly at 84,849, 80,250, and 76,415 miles respectively, showing no advisories or recurring defects across the recorded period. The mileage pattern sits at a typical level for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 8,930 miles per year against the 89,301 miles recorded. The annual increments are modest and consistent: 3,835 miles between October 2022 and October 2023, 4,599 miles to October 2024, and 4,452 miles to the September 2025 test. No rapid accumulation or unexplained gaps appear in the DVSA data, and the clean record across five years suggests the previous keeper kept the Touareg to a basic scheduled maintenance routine without deferred consumable neglect. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake disc wear given the vehicle's age and mass, as these components degrade without always triggering MOT advisories in a single test cycle. The absence of corrosion or structural integrity flags in the history is reassuring, but underside inspection for early rust at chassis mounting points remains prudent on a 2016 model. The duplicate test entry on 23 September 2025 warrants a check of the V5C and DVSA portal to confirm the failure was a clerical error and not a concealed rejection. Otherwise, the Touareg's recorded history shows no worsening mechanical trend and implies careful ownership.
