2006 Vauxhall Combo 1.2L Diesel · KV06 LMY

The 2006 Vauxhall Combo presents a stable and well-maintained roadworthiness profile. The most recent MOT, conducted on 11 August 2025 at 192,792 miles, passed with zero defects recorded. This clean bill of health, mirrored by the August 2024 pass, indicates the vehicle is currently in sound mechanical order with no immediate advisories or failures to address. Mileage accumulation tells a consistent story. Between the August 2023 test at 170,321 miles and the August 2025 test at 192,792 miles, the vehicle covered approximately 22,471 miles in two years, averaging around 11,235 miles annually. This sits slightly above the typical 9,640 miles-per-year benchmark for a vehicle of this age, suggesting regular use rather than long-term storage. The record shows no alarming gaps or sudden spikes in accumulation that would raise concerns about odometer tampering or prolonged inactivity. Despite the clean recent record, the history reveals a pattern worth noting. The vehicle failed its MOT on 6 August 2024 before passing just six days later on 12 August 2024, with no defects listed in either entry. A similar pattern occurred in July and August 2023, with a failure on 28 July followed by a pass on 8 August. These back-to-back entries with no recorded defects suggest administrative or procedural retests rather than mechanical failures, but the repeated need for retests hints at borderline compliance or minor issues resolved before the second attempt. A buyer should still conduct a thorough in-person inspection focused on high-mileage wear items. At nearly 193,000 miles, suspension components such as bushes, drop links, and coil springs are well within their expected service life and should be checked for deterioration. Brake discs, pads, and calipers merit close scrutiny for uneven wear or binding. The exhaust system and its mountings should be inspected for corrosion, particularly given the vehicle's age. Structural rust around sills, subframes, and load-bearing areas remains a key concern for a 20-year-old commercial van and must be assessed carefully before purchase.
