2007 Ford Galaxy 2.0L Diesel · NJ07 XCW

The vehicle currently lacks a valid MOT certificate, as the most recent test on July 22, 2024, resulted in a failure. While the record shows a pattern of passing on the second attempt in each of the last three years, the absence of specific defect data in the DVSA record is unusual and prevents a granular assessment of mechanical health. This recurring cycle of failing an initial test only to pass immediately afterward suggests that the vehicle is likely being presented for inspection without adequate pre-test preparation, relying on the tester to identify necessary repairs rather than proactive maintenance. At 130,047 miles over 19 years, the vehicle averages approximately 6,845 miles per annum, which is consistent with light to moderate usage for a large MPV. The mileage accumulation appears steady, showing no signs of long-term storage or erratic usage patterns that might lead to perished rubber seals or seized drivetrain components. However, the lack of detailed advisory notes in the history means that common age-related issues for the Ford Galaxy platform, such as rear suspension bush degradation or subframe corrosion, remain undocumented in the official record. Prospective buyers should conduct a thorough physical inspection of the suspension and braking systems, as these components are frequently overlooked on older, high-mileage family vehicles. Check the coil springs for fractures and inspect the underside for structural corrosion, particularly around the rear axle mounting points. Given the recent test failure, verify that all lighting, tyre tread depths, and emissions systems are fully functional before considering a purchase. Relying solely on the clean pass history is insufficient, as the lack of recorded advisories likely reflects a minimalist approach to maintenance rather than an absence of wear.
