2009 BMW R1200 1.2L Petrol · S14 RCY

The vehicle demonstrates stable roadworthiness with no defects recorded in its last five MOT tests, including the most recent 2025-08-08 inspection at 64,404 miles. All prior tests from 2021 to 2024 also showed passing results with no recorded issues, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical concerns. The absence of advisories or failures suggests the owner has addressed minor wear promptly, though the lack of detailed fault logs limits insight into specific component conditions. The mileage of 64,404 miles over 17 years equates to approximately 3,788 annual miles, significantly below the UK average for this age. This low usage could imply infrequent operation, which may lead to issues like seized joints or degraded rubber components. The MOT intervals align with annual testing, showing no gaps, but the minimal mileage growth between tests—such as 61,406 to 61,702 miles between 2021 and 2022—suggests periods of inactivity. Buyers should verify if the vehicle has been regularly driven to prevent long-term mechanical stagnation. While no specific faults are listed, the low mileage and extended intervals warrant scrutiny of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers for stiffness or corrosion. The absence of exhaust or emission-related advisories is positive, but a physical inspection should confirm the structural integrity of the chassis and check for hidden rust, particularly in underbody areas. Buyers should also assess tyre condition, as low mileage can mask uneven wear from prolonged parking. Overall, the MOT history reflects reliability but does not eliminate the need for a thorough pre-purchase examination.
