1999 Subaru Impreza 2.0L Petrol · T864 CUD

The vehicle demonstrates a stable roadworthiness trend, with no defects recorded in its most recent MOT on 2026-03-05 at 53,739 miles. All prior tests from 2025 to 2013 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical failures. The absence of advisories or critical faults in seven consecutive assessments suggests the car has been well-preserved, though the long intervals between tests limit insight into potential gradual wear. The mileage of 53,739 miles for a 27-year-old vehicle is exceptionally low, averaging 1,990 miles annually. This pattern implies either minimal usage or extended periods of inactivity, which can accelerate component degradation through corrosion or fluid stagnation. Notably, the 2019 MOT recorded 53,682 miles, followed by a 2025 test at 53,713 miles—a mere 31-mile increase over six years. Such stagnation raises questions about the vehicle’s operational history and the reliability of its systems after prolonged idleness. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension for aged bushes or coil springs, as these can deteriorate without regular use. The braking system, including calipers and discs, warrants scrutiny for binding or corrosion, despite no recorded faults. The exhaust and structural integrity should also be checked, as low mileage does not eliminate risks from environmental exposure. While the MOT history shows no immediate concerns, the vehicle’s prolonged inactivity necessitates a thorough pre-purchase examination of its mechanical and corrosion status.
