2005 Mercedes-Benz SLK 3.5L Petrol · V6 SLK

The 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLK presents a stable and highly commendable maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass at its most recent MOT on 27 November 2025 at 95,033 miles. Every recorded test over the past five years has passed with zero defects, indicating consistent mechanical upkeep and a lack of recurring faults. This flawless record suggests a diligent previous owner who addressed wear items proactively before they escalated into failures. The vehicle's mileage accumulation aligns with its low annual usage of roughly 4,525 miles per year. Between the October 2021 test at 89,379 miles and the November 2024 test at 90,882 miles, the car covered just 1,503 miles over three years, suggesting prolonged periods of static storage. However, the recent jump to 95,033 miles by November 2025 shows a sudden increase of 4,151 miles in a single year. This shift from dormancy to active use warrants a close inspection of components that degrade from standing rather than driving. Despite the pristine MOT record, the car's age and recent transition from low mileage to higher usage demand a thorough physical inspection. A buyer should scrutinize the structural integrity of the undercarriage and sills for corrosion, a common affliction on older Mercedes-Benz models that spend time stationary. Perishable rubber components, including suspension bushes, brake hoses, and tyre sidewalls, require checking for age-related cracking, as the 2021 to 2024 mileage gap indicates the vehicle sat idle for extended periods. The sudden 4,000-mile increase in the last year means checking the brake discs for surface corrosion and ensuring the exhaust emissions remain stable under load, as short trips during the dormant years could have caused moisture buildup in the oil and exhaust systems.
