2015 Ford Ranger 2.2L Diesel · WG65 UVM

This Ford Ranger has demonstrated consistent roadworthiness over its most recent MOT cycle, with the January 2026 test confirming no defects at 80,846 miles. The absence of advisories or failures in the last three tests—December 2024, January 2026, and the duplicate December 2023 pass—indicates a stable maintenance pattern, though the repeated December 2023 failure (despite passing earlier that month) suggests either a minor oversight or a non-critical issue resolved swiftly. No recurring faults appear in the record, and the most recent test was conducted just six months ago, well within the DVSA’s recommended 12-month interval for this vehicle category. The mileage progression shows steady usage, averaging around 7,350 miles annually, which aligns with typical expectations for a vehicle of this age. There are no concerning gaps or abrupt jumps—mileage increased by approximately 9,000 miles between December 2023 and December 2024, and another 9,750 miles by January 2026. The lack of extended periods of inactivity or rapid acceleration in mileage suggests consistent, moderate use rather than neglect or heavy-duty operation. However, the 2023 failure—despite passing the same month—implies a potential oversight in pre-MOT checks, warranting scrutiny of routine maintenance records. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear axle bushes and coil springs, as these are common wear points on this model at this mileage. The absence of brake-related failures does not preclude binding calipers or uneven wear, so a thorough check of disc thickness, pad condition, and hydraulic integrity is essential. Structural integrity should also be assessed, focusing on wheel arches, sills, and underbody corrosion—critical areas for a 2015 Ranger exposed to UK road conditions. Finally, verify that all advisories from previous tests (if any) were addressed, though none are recorded here. Tyre tread depth and alignment history, though not failing, should be cross-referenced with the mileage to ensure no deferred replacements.
