2007 Ford Transit 2.4L Diesel · WM57 YFL

The 2007 Ford Transit presents a stable roadworthiness record, with the most recent MOT in October 2025 at 116,568 miles passing without any defects. This aligns with the two preceding tests in March 2023 and March 2022, both of which also cleared with no advisories or failures. The absence of recurring issues suggests the vehicle has been maintained consistently, at least in terms of compliance with basic MOT requirements. However, the near-three-year gap between the 2023 and 2025 tests—despite only 1,039 miles covered in that period—raises questions about whether the vehicle has been stored or used very lightly, potentially masking wear that might not have been caught under heavier use. The mileage accumulation of roughly 6,135 miles per year is typical for a 19-year-old commercial vehicle, indicating neither extreme low-mileage neglect nor aggressive high-mileage operation. The 1,039-mile jump between the 2022 and 2023 tests (115,529 to 116,568) suggests minimal activity over nearly two years, which could imply the Transit was either parked for extended periods or used sparingly. Without additional service records, it’s impossible to confirm whether routine maintenance—such as fluid top-ups, suspension checks, or brake inspections—was performed outside of MOT requirements. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should still conduct a thorough pre-purchase inspection, focusing on components not routinely checked in standard MOTs. Pay particular attention to suspension integrity, including coil springs, shock absorbers, and bushings, as these are prone to fatigue over time. Check for signs of corrosion in wheel arches, sills, and underbody panels, especially if the vehicle has spent time in damp or salty conditions. While the brakes passed inspection, binding calipers or uneven wear on discs could still be present and should be tested dynamically. Finally, verify the condition of the exhaust system for leaks or rust, as these are often overlooked but can indicate broader structural concerns. The lack of MOT advisories does not guarantee these areas are flawless—only that they met minimum legal standards at test time.
