2008 Suzuki DRZ 400 SM K7 0.4L Petrol · YB08 AEF

The 2024‑02‑28 MOT at 14,312 miles recorded a clean pass with no defects, confirming that the Suzuki DRZ 400 SM remains roadworthy. Since the 2013 test, which noted front brake pad wear and low master‑cylinder fluid, subsequent examinations have shown no recurring mechanical failures, indicating a stable maintenance record rather than a worsening or improving trend. The mileage trajectory shows an initial rise from 1,998 miles in April 2011 to 10,995 miles by October 2013, a gain of roughly 9,000 miles in two years, then a slower accumulation to the current 14,312 miles after 2016, reflecting an average of about 795 miles per year over the vehicle’s 18‑year lifespan. Periods of low usage are evident between 2016 and 2022, when mileage increased by only 26 miles over six years. A buyer should therefore inspect the brake system, checking pad thickness, disc condition and master‑cylinder fluid, as the 2013 advisory highlighted wear close to the minimum limit. Examination of the suspension bushes, coil springs and steering components is advisable to detect any binding calipers or excessive play, while a visual assessment of the chassis, wheel arches and sills will reveal structural rust or corrosion that could compromise integrity. Given the recent clean MOT and low recent mileage, the vehicle appears mechanically sound, but a thorough physical inspection of wear items and structural condition is essential before purchase.
