Saab Models

Saab ownership in the UK is now a specialist pursuit. While the brand is defunct, parts support remains strong via Orio (Hedin Parts). Key risks across the range include "Oil Sludge" on older petrol turbos, Direct Ignition (DI) cassette failures, and complex electronics (CIM) on later 9-3 models. They offer exceptional seats and safety, but require owners who are proactive with maintenance.

Saab 9-5 NG

The final Saab. A rare, striking car based on the Insignia platform. Suffers from very poor parts availability for body and trim items.

Saab 9-3 NG

The "Sport Saloon" era. Great handling and modern safety, but let down by fragile electronics and cheap interior plastics on early cars.

2002 - 2012View Model

Saab 9-5 OG

A superb long-distance cruiser. Known for having some of the best car seats ever made. Suffers from similar engine issues to the 9-3 OG.

Saab 900 NG / 9-3 OG

The GM-era hatch and convertible. More civilised than the Classic but suffered from some cost-cutting, notably the bulkhead strength and engine ventilation.

1994 - 2003View Model

Saab 900 Classic

The iconic "true" Saab. Known for its wrap-around windscreen and aeronautical ergonomics. Rust and gearbox longevity are the main concerns today.
