The Born arrived in the UK in 2021 as Cupra's first electric vehicle, sharing the VW Group MEB platform with the VW ID.3. Early cars were plagued by slow infotainment boot-up times, laggy touchscreen responses, and software connectivity issues. The rear drum brakes also corroded and stuck due to infrequent use with regenerative braking.
The MEB platform software (Shared with VW ID.3/4) has been improved but can still suffer from slow boot-up times.
