F1 clutch wear and clutch sensor failure
SeriousGearbox & TransmissionVirtually all UK 599s were fitted with the F1 automated manual, and clutch life depends heavily on use — heavy urban or track driving wears the clutch quickly. A clutch replacement costs roughly £3,000–£5,000, and worn clutch sensors can also cause selection faults. Gearbox oil should be changed every two years or 37,000 miles. Ask for a clutch-life readout and test shifts when cold and hot.

- Request a clutch-life percentage readout from a Ferrari specialist
- Test gear shifts when cold and again when fully warm
- Verify gearbox oil has been changed at the two-year or 37,000-mile interval
