2016 MINI Clubman Cooper SD 2.0L Heavy oil · BIG 7150

This 2016 MINI Clubman Cooper SD has maintained a consistent MOT pass record with no defects recorded across the last five annual tests, most recently on 24 November 2025 at 44,636 miles. The absence of advisories or failings suggests the vehicle has undergone regular, compliant servicing aligned with manufacturer intervals, though the record does not confirm whether pre-MOT diagnostics were conducted. The most recent test, just under eight months ago, indicates no immediate concerns with emissions, structural integrity, or critical systems. However, the lack of advisories in prior years also means there is no historical evidence of recurring issues—either mechanical or cosmetic—that might warrant closer scrutiny. The recorded mileage of 44,636 miles over nine years, averaging approximately 4,464 miles annually, is notably low for a vehicle of this age, particularly given its urban-oriented Cooper SD specification. The most significant mileage jump occurred between the 2022 and 2023 tests, where the odometer increased by 3,799 miles in just over a year, suggesting either a period of heavier use or a reset. The intervening gaps between tests—ranging from 11 to 13 months—are standard for MOT cycles, but the overall low mileage implies the car has spent extended periods stationary. This could influence wear patterns on components like suspension bushes, which degrade more rapidly when left unsupported, or battery health, given the risk of sulfation in underused units. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear coil springs and bushes, which may show accelerated wear despite low mileage. The front and rear brake systems, though not flagged in tests, should be assessed for uneven pad thickness or glazing, as binding calipers or warped discs can develop without overt MOT failings. Corrosion is another critical area—check the wheel arches, sills, and subframe mounts for pitting, as rust propagation is often masked until it compromises structural integrity. Finally, the exhaust system warrants inspection for leaks or cracked heat shields, as emissions systems, while not explicitly tested here, can fail silently over time. The absence of advisories does not preclude hidden issues, so a thorough mechanical examination remains essential.
