2017 Volkswagen Touran S TDI BMT 1.6L Diesel · GJ17 BXX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent history of clean MOT passes. The most recent inspection conducted in February 2026 at 109,935 miles resulted in no recorded defects or advisories. This streak of clean results across the last five tests suggests that the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that avoids the mechanical or structural failures typically flagged in high-mileage diesel engines. The mileage pattern indicates consistent, high-intensity usage, averaging approximately 12,000 miles per annum. There is a significant data anomaly in the record between March 2021 and September 2022, where the mileage jumps from 52,098 to 733,160 miles. This is clearly a clerical entry error by the tester rather than a physical reality, as such distance is impossible for a standard vehicle in that timeframe. Excluding that specific outlier, the progression from 90,029 miles in 2024 shows a steady motorway-style usage pattern which places expected stress on the drivetrain and suspension components. While the MOT record shows no recurring faults or advisories, a physical inspection should focus on components that suffer from high-mileage wear. Given the 110,000-mile threshold, the buyer must specifically inspect the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs for signs of fatigue, as these often degrade at this interval. The braking system should be checked for uneven pad wear or minor corrosion on the discs, as the MOT only identifies functional failures rather than the gradual thinning of consumables.
