1990 Ford Escort 1.3L Petrol · H451 GVW

The vehicle presents a high level of roadworthiness, maintaining a remarkably stable maintenance trend. The most recent test conducted on 3 July 2025 at 108,199 miles passed with no defects or advisories recorded. This reflects a clean sheet across the last five annual inspections, suggesting that the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that avoids the mechanical failures or structural degradation typically flagged by DVSA testers. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a vehicle from 1990, averaging approximately 3,000 miles per annum. Between July 2019 and July 2022, the car covered only 3,335 miles, indicating very light use or long periods of storage. The gap between the 2022 and 2025 tests shows a further increase of just 33 miles, which confirms a consistent low-usage profile. While this low mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it often increases risks associated with age-related perish of rubber and fluid stagnation. Despite the clean MOT history, a physical inspection must focus on the specific vulnerabilities of low-age vehicles. Ford Escorts of this era are prone to structural corrosion in the sills, floor pans, and suspension mounting points which may not always be visible during a standard MOT presentation. The buyer should check for cracking in perished hoses, rubber bushings, and tyre sidew, as these components degrade due to time rather than mileage. Additionally, the brake discs and calipers should be inspected for seizing or pitting, as infrequent use often leads to internal corrosion within the braking system.
