1991 Volkswagen Golf 1.3L Petrol · J778 NWK

The Volkswagen Golf presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent DVSA test on 19 December 2024 at 121,063 miles returning a clean pass with no defects recorded. Across the five available tests from 14 January 2021 through to that December 2024 examination, the vehicle cleared every inspection without a single advisory or failure, indicating consistent mechanical condition over the four-year window. At approximately 35 years old the car shows 121,063 recorded miles, equating to a low average of roughly 3,459 miles per year. The records confirm light annual use: the tester logged 97,862 miles in January 2021, 103,965 by December 2021, 113,850 in January 2023, 117,137 in January 2024, and 121,063 in December 2024. No gaps exceed twelve months and accumulation stays gentle, though the sparse five-entry history leaves earlier decades unverified. Low mileage of this sort often means prolonged standing periods, which can allow corrosion and perished rubber components to develop unseen. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as the MOT record contains no advisories to confirm freedom from rust on a 1991 shell. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs deserve physical checks for age-related degradation despite the clean passes. The absence of flagged binding calipers or exhaust emissions faults is reassuring, yet rubber perishables such as tyres and wiper blades will likely need renewal simply through time, not wear. Given the unbroken pass sequence and minimal annual coverage, previous keepers appear to have maintained the Golf to a basic road-legal standard without neglect of test requirements. The low yearly distance suggests careful or seasonal use rather than deferred consumable upkeep, but only a workshop ramp examination will confirm the true state of chassis and drivetrain on a vehicle of this vintage.
