2001 Volkswagen Transporter 2.5L Diesel · LO52 BHZ

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, maintaining a clean pass record over the last three testing cycles. Following a failure in June 2020 at 328,190 miles, the Transporter successfully passed subsequent inspections without any recorded defects. The most recent test in September 2023 at 367,526 miles showed no faults, suggesting that the primary mechanical and structural components remained within acceptable tolerance levels despite the high usage intensity. The mileage accumulation is consistent with a commercial-use or long-distance vehicle, averaging approximately 14,700 miles per annum. Data shows a steady rate of use, with 14,000 miles covered between June 2021 and August 2022, and another 19,000 miles between August 2022 and September 2023. This indicates the vehicle has been used regularly rather than sitting for long periods, which helps prevent internal corrosion but places significant strain on the drivetrain, suspension bushings, and braking system. A buyer must focus their physical inspection on the chassis and structural integrity, as high-mileage T4 Transporters are prone to advanced corrosion in the sills, floor pans, and mounting points. While the MOT record shows no recent failures, the sheer mileage suggests that suspension components like shock absorbers and control arms are likely near the end of their service life. Check for any signs of sticking calipers or worn brake discs, as the high annual mileage accelerates the wear on these consumables.
