2013 Audi A3 2.0L Diesel · M90 BBJ

This 2013 Audi A3 has maintained a clean MOT history with no defects recorded across five consecutive tests, including the most recent pass on 2026-02-04 at 71,232 miles. The absence of advisories or failings suggests the vehicle has consistently met DVSA’s minimum roadworthiness standards, though this does not preclude underlying issues not captured by the MOT. The regular annual testing pattern—without gaps or late renewals—implies the vehicle has been kept in active use and likely received basic maintenance between tests. However, the lack of any recorded advisories also means no evidence exists of proactive servicing beyond statutory requirements. The recorded mileage of 71,232 miles over 13 years represents an average of approximately 5,479 miles annually, which is unusually low for a vehicle of this age. The steady accumulation—without abrupt jumps or prolonged stagnation—rules out extreme neglect or prolonged storage. For instance, the mileage increased by roughly 4,800 miles between each test, from 52,977 miles in January 2022 to 57,303 miles in January 2023, and again to 61,486 miles by January 2024. This consistency suggests the vehicle has been driven regularly, though the low annual mileage may indicate lighter use or a preference for shorter trips, potentially allowing some components to degrade more slowly than in high-mileage examples. Given the clean MOT record, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of high-wear items not routinely tested, such as suspension bushes and coil springs, which may exhibit fatigue or corrosion despite passing visual checks. The brakes—though not flagged—should be assessed for uneven wear or binding calipers, particularly if the vehicle has been driven at lower speeds for extended periods. Corrosion in wheel arches, sills, or subframes is another critical area, as low mileage does not correlate with reduced exposure to road salt or moisture. Finally, the exhaust system and emissions controls warrant scrutiny, as older Audi models are prone to catalytic converter degradation or exhaust leakages that may not always trigger MOT failings until they become severe. A pre-purchase diagnostic focusing on these areas will provide clarity on the vehicle’s true condition beyond the MOT’s scope.
