2006 Mazda Bongo 2.5L Diesel · P985 CRN

The 2006 Mazda Bongo demonstrates a stable maintenance trajectory, culminating in a clean pass on March 13, 2026, at an unspecified high mileage. The record shows two interesting immediate failures on May 9, 2024, and May 6, 2025, both resulting in a clean pass just days later without any recorded advisories or defects. This pattern suggests administrative re-tests or minor rectification work rather than chronic mechanical neglect. With 264,148 miles recorded over its twenty-year lifespan, the vehicle averages approximately 13,200 miles annually, indicating sustained and heavy operational use. The testing cadence remains tightly grouped in the spring months of each year, showing consistent annual submissions without long periods of abandonment. Gaps between the failed tests and subsequent passes span only a few days, confirming that previous owners acted promptly to secure certification. Prospective buyers must inspect the chassis and structural integrity closely, as high-mileage Mazda Bongos frequently suffer from severe underbody corrosion on the rear wheel arches, sills, and suspension mounting points. The cooling system on this chassis demands rigorous scrutiny during a physical inspection, alongside checks for worn suspension bushes, ball joints, and dampness around the drivetrain. While the recent clean MOT certificates indicate the vehicle meets minimum statutory roadworthiness standards, the extensive mileage dictates a thorough mechanical assessment of high-wear consumable components before purchase.
